Handpunch Time Clock
and
Daylight Saving Time

The HandPunch Time Clocks are capable of self adjusting for Daylight Saving Time. The dates to change must be programmed into the clock each year. When the clocks are shipped from Sundial, they are configured for Daylight Saving Time Enabled for the current calendar year.

To program the revised dates into them, you will need to use a HandPunch Clock Management tool called WinHand32. If you don't have WinHand32, you can download it here.

WinHand32 consists of 2 files: The application, WH32.exe; and a settings file, WH32.ini, which MUST be located in the Windows folder. The installer places the application in your RealTime folder and adds a shortcut to your settings file named WinHand Settings.

To configure the application to work with your clock, you will need to edit the settings file using notepad or some other text editor. (Using the shortcut will allow Windows to select your default text editor) There are comments in the settings file that instruct you how to use each of the options in the settings file.

Start the WinHand32 application by double-clikcing WH32 in your RealTime Installation Folder (Probably C:\RT3)

The WinHand32 application will automatically connect to your clock when it starts.

Select Setup Data... from the Reader menu to access the screen you need for configuring your Daylight Saving Time.

Click the Get button to retrieve the current configuration values from the time clock.

Specify the Month, Day, Hour, and Minute to begin Daylight Saving Time in the DlsOn fields.

Likewise, specify the Month, Day, Hour, and Minute to end Daylight Saving Time in the DlsOff fields.

(3/11 2:00 and 11/4 2:00 for the 2007 calendar year)

Click the Set button to send the updated values to the time clock.
