Biometrics refers to the identification of a person by detecting something about that person themselves. In a wider context it includes such things as eye retina scans, handwriting analysis, and even detecting habits and patterns of keystroke entry while someone is typing. See our biometrics page for an overview of available biometric time clocks. |
| Com Port (Comm port, communications port) |
The Comm port is an RS-232 connection on the back of the computer that is sometimes used as an optional method for connecting a time clock. The shape of this connector is why it is sometimes referred to as a D-connector. Your tech support rep will make sure you get all the right cables and connections when you order any of our clocks, and will help make sure everything is connected correctly at installation. |
