In order to configure your Fingerprint Clock to collect Department or Job codes during the Punch process, there are a few setting to configure
1) Configure the clock to request the information from the employee 2) Instruct RealTime Communications what to do with the information that the employee entered
Configure the Clock
Using the keypad on the clock, press the "Menu" button. Submit your Finger or ID / Passcode for authentication if needed. Note: If your clock requires authentication, then you must have "Supervisor" level clearance to perform these steps Select the "Options" menu item and press "OK" Select the "System Opt" menu item and press "OK" Select the "Adv Option" menu item and press "OK" Locate the "WorkCode" option and press "OK" Modify the value to "Mode1" and press "OK" Press "ESC" Press "OK" when prompted to "Save Changes?" Press "ESC" 3 more times to return to the Idle state.
Configure the Software
Get the List of Locations Open your RealTime Communications software Note: If the "End" button on the toolbar is enabled, Click it and wait for it to become Disabled.
Access the Terminal Polling Selections screen by clicking the "Call" button on the toolbar
Refer to the values listed in the "Location Name" column. You can leave this window open while you do the next section in case it is necessary to refer back to it
Create the Assignments Open the folder where RealTime is installed. Usually this is "C:\RT3" In this folder, locate the text file named "ClockAssignments" Open this file with a Text Editor (Double Click will usually open it with Notepad) Make entries in the file as follows: [Location Name]=WorkCode:[Selection] Where: [Location Name] corresponds to the "Location Name" of an entry in your "Terminal Polling Selections" screen above and [Selection] is either "Dept" or "Job"
Repeat the entry on new lines for each Clock that will be collecting Department or Job codes.
